Many common causes we see in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are leaky appliances, overflowing toilets, popped water heaters, clogged AC drain lines, roof leaks, etc. These not only cause the need for initial extraction and dry out of the structure but also any possible contents involved. Often these contents need to be taken offsite to be dried out and cleaned. If they are not salvageable, they will need to be documented if insurance is involved and disposed of.
In addition, services like tarping, board ups or tree trimming may be needed. You can also add into the mix more unsavory situations like mold and sewage otherwise known as black water. And when all drying has been completed and the mold/sewage situations have been remediated which often involves removal of the affected area, it is time to get the home or commercial building back to preloss condition. This SERVPRO location was great. I called about getting my ceiling inspected due to a AC leak in the attic. Their office was close by and even though they were very busy, they had someone stop within the hour. They used several different tools to check out my ceiling, including a thermal camera which was really neat. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them!
We had a washing machine pipe issue that flooded part of our garage but mainly flowed through the wall into our living room. This was the second time in the last year that we have had to call a mitigation company. The first time was after the February Freeze in2021. We wish we had known about SERVPRO of Southwest Dallas then. They were fantastic to work with. They were knowledgeable, overcommunicated and had clean equipment that actually worked. We would highly recommend!
