Named after the Cockrell family who were early pioneers, the town of Cockrell Hill was known to travelers on the stage line that ran from Dallas to El Paso and further west. In the early days, it was known as an agricultural settlement. Officially established in 1937, it is it’s own official city in Dallas county surrounded by the city of Dallas. It spans 373 acres or .6 square miles. Despite being it’s own city, students are still serviced by the Dallas Independent School District. The population is around 4,000 residents with 90%+ being of Hispanic heritage.
A fun fact, the legendary musician Stevie Ray Vaughan made his first public performance at Cockrell Hill Theater.
Located in the 75211 zip code, just south of I30 and west of downtown Dallas, Cockrell Hill is a great location as can be witnessed by the Pinnacle Park industrial complex which houses numerous warehouses including Petco, Amazon, Dr. Pepper, Stitch Fix, Quaker Oats, and many more. This also includes a massive shopping center with large big box stores like Walmart, Lowes, Ross, etc.

We wish we had known about SERVPRO of Southwest Dallas then. They were fantastic to work with. They were knowledgeable, overcommunicated and had clean equipment that actually worked. We would highly recommend!
He (Shane) did a great job and made us feel comfortable. The customer service was great and he went above and beyond. He explained everything to us and what the issues were.
The team was on site shortly after calling to extract and place drying equipment after a fridge line malfunction. They were knowledgeable and courteous, highly recommended!
