Buckner Terrace is considered one of Dallas’ most racially and ethnically mixed neighborhoods with it’s neighborhood association considered among the city’s most politically powerful neighborhood associations. Buckner Terrace is located in East Dallas, just a short distance from White Rock Lake, which is the recreational focal point of East Dallas.
Buckner Terrace is named after Dr. Robert Cooke Buckner, a Baptist minister and founder of Buckner Baptist Orphans’ Home which he started in 1879. In 1959, the Buckner Orphan Home decided to sell part of their holdings to obtain much needed funds to care for the children at the “home”. They divided the land between industrial, commercial and residential. It was this land that became part of the large 2800 acre real estate development project that would be in full swing during the 1960s through the 1980s. The development north of Interstate 30 was undertaken in 1965 with more than 1,200 lots being fully developed by the summer of 1966.
These beautiful homes now are 50+ years old. Older homes are typically at a higher risk for water and fire issues causing the need for water damage restoration and fire damage mitigation services. Everglade Park is an eight-acre plot made up of a loop walking trail, baseball field, picnic area, playground, basketball court and Everglade Pool. Grove Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park sits on about 160 acres and dates back to 1911. It happens to be the final resting place of Dr. Buckner as well.

Couldn't be more thankful that we called these guys.
