Milton is a city that holds the county seat of Santa Rosa County, Florida. It's located in the Pensacola–Ferry Pass–Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area, also known as the Pensacola Metropolitan Area. Milton is also positioned in the geographic center of Santa Rosa County, and it is bordered by Pace to the west, and Navarre to the South. In the last census report in 2020, the population of Milton was 10,197. The town was officially incorporated in 1844, and is the standing home to the Naval Air Station Whiting Field.
Milton was known by various names during its development. The most notable names on record include:
- Hell-Town (because the land is muggy, inhospitable and covered with briars, mosquitoes, thorns, snakes)
- Jernigan's Landing
- Scratch Ankle (due to the briars that grew along the river bank)
- Hard Scrabble.
This name-worthy area is located at 30°37′49″N 87°02′47″W and, reported by the census bureau, made up of a total area of 4.6 square miles of which 4.4 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles is water. Milton is also the home of the West Florida Railroad Museum and the historic Imogene Theater, owned and operated by the Santa Rosa Historical Society.

A toilet in my home overflowed all night when I woke up I woke up to ankle deep water in my bedroom. The furniture in my sunken in den was floating. They came in dried everything out and repaired my home this company just amazed me.
