Sissonville, West Virginia is located on the Kanawha County line. The town received its name from the founder John Sisson. Sissonville has an extensive history of flooding with three national disaster floods in 1998, 1999, and 2000. The largest employer in Sissonville is NGK Spark Plug Inc. manufacturing facility with over 300 employees. Sissonville has one country club named Edgewood Country Club where families go to play golf, community events, and swimming.
