Located in central Clark County with route 503 running North to South through the community is Brush Prairie. The population sits at about 2,700 with a majority of those individuals being retirees. The area was named by Elmarine Jane Bowman for its flat lands of brush and swamps.
Brush Prairie is a small, rural town where you seem to run into a familiar face everywhere you go. Lots of one lane country roads as well as quiet, natural scenery to enjoy. A local favorite business, Bi-Zi farms draws in large crowds especially in October for its pumpkin patch, corn maze and petting zoo. The Zimmerman family has been working the land since the late 1800’s, providing fresh produce and fun family memories. Prairie High School has a smaller student body with only about 1500 students but makes up for it in spirit. Prairie is ranked above average in athletics in Washington State, go Falcons!
Brush Prairie is no exception to the annually anticipated flooding that Clark County experiences. The low elevation in combination with surrounding streams and creeks makes the area a commonplace for water damage. Despite planning and preventive maintenance, things occur out of your control. In the past year we experience three separate/unrelated events which required immediate mitigation. On all three events Tim and his team at SERVPRO saved our bacon, making the experiences far less stressful for my staff and our Residents. During our most recent event Tim answered his phone and was out to our building, along with his assistant, within an hour to begin assessing our situation. Within 2 hours Tim had a mitigation crew working on clean-up. Given the nature and extent of the event we were realistic that it could take into the following afternoon to get the place back to operating condition. However, Tim's crew was somehow able to get the place back up and ready before the end of the business day. They were incredibly thorough. In addition, his crew was exceptionally friendly and great to work with throughout their time onsite. When the invoice arrived I felt the price was very fair---especially considering the quality of work and response time. Two of the events involved insurance claims, which Tim and his team at SERVPRO managed directly, saving us time and stress. If you're a business owner, or any kind of property owner, I strongly recommend reaching out to this SERVPRO office and setting things up in advance, just to be safe. You will be glad you did. I cannot recommend these folks enough.
