Located in Chesterfield County, Virginia, Bensley Village was created by Albert Bensley in 1909 as one of the earliest residential communities in Chesterfield. The Village of Bensley was originally marketed as a convenient streetcar suburb only twenty minutes from the city or Richmond, where it wasn’t necessary to own an automobile and still enjoy the amenities of living near the city. City residents often took streetcars to escape the heat of the city and take a trip to the parks and campsites of Bensley. Today, over 100 years later, the town still exists with a small population of just under 6000. Located here, is the first iron works factory in North America, Falling Creek Ironworks. Today, you can visit Falling Creek Ironworks Park to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area and participate in some fishing, hiking or nature photography.
