Halls Crossroads, Tennessee , is a small town with a big heart. Halls Crossroads was settled in 1842, becoming officially incorporated in 1962. The community was named after John R. Halsell who settled here in the 1800s. The first settlers of Halls Crossroads included Quakers, Presbyterians and Methodists who founded a school that operated through the Civil War era. The town's population has grown over the years and now includes residents who own vacation homes in the area or work as teachers or professionals in nearby cities such as Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville.
