The town of Pomaria is located in Newberry County – a small town just outside the city limits of Newberry. Pomaria was first settled in the mid – 18th century by immigrants of the German, Swiss and Dutch decent who were escaping poverty resulting from the Thirty Years’ War. Many immigrants brought the beliefs of their Lutheran Religion. The town of Pomaria was home to The Hope Rosenwald School, also known as Hope School. The school served rural African-American children in the early 20th century. James Haskell Hope was the Superintendent of Education from 1922 to 1945 and sold over 2 acres of his land to the Trustees of the School District to build the school. The Rosenwald School project built more than 5000 schools and teacher homes in the United States primarily for African-American children.
Pomaria has a deep history to those who have grown up in the area. Although this small town has less than 300 residents – the history is rich and the family friendly people who call this sweet town home are the reasons that many who grew up here, remain here to raise their families. The beauty that surrounds this small community is rich in parks and trails. Road Side Park and the Palmetto trail bring many visitors to the area each year.

I contacted SERVPRO of Newberry and Laurens Counties and Mel was quick to respond he was at my house within and determined that I did have a leak - showed me where it was and checked for mold and set my mind at ease. NO MOLD - He went into detail as to what I needed to do and actually did half the demo for me! I would NOT hesitate to recommend this company! Thank you Mel - you rock!
