Loop, Indiana County, Pennsylvania is a small rural town in the Southwestern corner of Pennsylvania. The weather and climate in Loop is typical for Western Pennsylvania including mild winters, hot summers, and humid conditions with an average of approximately 250 inches of annual rainfall. A Bit of History of Loop
The history of Loop, Indiana County, Pennsylvania begins in 1898 with its incorporation. The city was named for a curve in the nearby creek and due to its location on the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago electric railway. The area that is currently Loop, Indiana County, Pennsylvania was originally settled in 1790 by William Gearhart and his brother Thomas who owned over three hundred acres of land. They donated this land to create a town site which would be surveyed by Abraham Miller who later became a town official and speaker at the incorporation meeting.
