La Salle College was founded in March 1863 as an all-male college by Brother Teliow and Archbishop James Wood of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. La Salle was first located at St. Michael's Parish on N. 2nd Street in the Olde Kensington section of Philadelphia. The college nearly closed due to a lack of students during World War II, and the football team was disbanded due to a lack of players, but the college experienced a period of growth in the late 1940s. La Salle admitted women to its regular classes in 1970, becoming a fully co-educational institution. A year later, La Salle opened Olney Hall, its main academic building. Today there are many dorms and student apartment buildings on and around campus. Recently had ice damming for the first time. Wow-water is destructive! We were out of town when it happened too so the damage was taking place for a few days without our knowledge.
From roof tarp to the final carpet cleaning and touch ups, SERVPRO proved themselves every day they showed up. Also made great recommendations to us and truly cared. That's rare.
My family and I recently experienced a house fire (electrical). We were fortunate that it was smaller and in our finished basement, however we did have quite a bit of smoke damage to the basement and main levels of the house. With the weather the way it has been, I was concerned that SERVPRO wouldn't have the time to help us, but low and behold...They showed up every single day and worked hard to get our house back in order. The smell from the smoke is GONE and I'm amazed. Everyone in the neighborhood now knows who to trust because I told everyone about the excellent service.
We just bought a new house and discovered mold in the basement. We used SERVPRO to help us remediate it and they also referred us to a great company to help us with the rebuild and make plans to finish the basement. SERVPRO was great in the whole process and we loved the office staff who were happy to communicate to me and my husband what was going on every step of the way.
