Oak Hills is one of the original smaller neighborhoods now encompassed by the Bethany area of Washington County. What began as a planned community in the 1960s as 10 original homes has blossomed into a lively area that has enrichment and community at the heart of its goals. Known for being event-oriented, the area is locally famous for its 4th of July fireworks show, an Easter egg hunt, a big Halloween party, and a variety of other holiday events. Throughout the year the local recreation department offers swimming lessons, tennis lessons, sporting fields, parks, RV parking, and walking trails. Although it is not an incorporated city, Oak Hills is managed by the OHHA (Oak Hills Homeowners Association). Oak Hills encapsulates 1.5 square miles and is the area of land north of Beaverton and west of Cedar Mill – bounded by Sunset Highway on one side. As an established neighborhood, Oak Hills has its own newsletter called the Oak Hills Oracle to keep residents and community members informed of upcoming events and activities.
