Lakeside Oregon is a small community just north of North Bend Oregon and right next to Ten Mile Lake. The Lakeside land, was originally owned by the Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians until 1874. Lakeside side may be a small town only housing a population of of 1,901 as of 2021. Lakeside does not have a lot of business' or exciting theme parks, what Lakeside does have are lakes, dunes, and mountains surrounding the area that offers excellent hunting, fishing and hiking. Tourists tend know the area for it's ample amounts of campgrounds that surround the area. There are several different campgrounds that are in the surrounding area, Tugman State park, Riley Ranch, Ten Mile Park and more. Most of these camping grounds offer Tent sites, R.V. site, Cabins and even Yurts. Lakeside also has access to the dunes through all of these camp grounds. Eel Lake located just north of Lakeside also offers an incredible hiking trail that over looks the lake and has great rest stops and overlooks.
Lakeside is a quite community, but that doesn't mean that homes don't face the same threats as the rest of us. Some Lakeside homes actually face a different problem then most of us do when disaster happens, some homes are only accessible by boat.
