Carroll, OH is a small community located in Fairfield County outside of Columbus, Ohio. At the intersection of the Ohio-Erie and Lancaster Lateral Canals, Carroll was the only place in Fairfield County where two canals intersected. The village was named in 1858 after Charles Carroll, who is the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Carroll was a booming place during the canal’s heyday between 1830 and 1880 but today it is a quiet atmosphere with friendly residents.
