Burton Village is located in Geauga County in Northeast Ohio. Surrounded by an Amish Community, Burton it is home to the Geauga County Historical Society, Century Village, and most famously, The Great Geauga County Fair (Ohio's oldest fair). The Great Geauga County Fair was born in 1823 and since the mid-1800s, it has has been held continuously in Burton once the County Fairgrounds was permanently established there. The "Great" in the Fair's name and seal was officially added in this century to signify the Fair's seniority standing as the "Great Granddaddy" of Ohio's county fairs! Today, it is now held annually each Labor Day weekend, and is the "grand finale" highlight to Geauga County's summer fun events.

Back in 2006, The Great Geauga County Fair had the most unwelcome visitor - the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto.
