The Cathedral of St. Helena has been a part of the city’s history for over 100 years. Work began in 1908 with money from Thomas Cruse, a local businessman who wanted something grand for Helena. The style came from a church in Vienna. Tall spires stretch above the streets, carved stone wraps the outside, and stained glass fills the interior with shifting colors. Many of those windows came from Germany. The cathedral still holds services every week, and visitors often step inside to take in the light and quiet. 

Upcoming Events in Helena 

Helena’s Parade of Homes happens October 4–5, 2025. Folks can wander through new builds and remodels, meet the crews behind them, and maybe leave with ideas for their own place. 

On November 8, 2025, the Exchange Club puts on the Festival of Wines to support Coats for Kids. It’s an evening of wine tasting combined with a fundraising event for a good cause. Attendees are asked to bring a new or gently used coat to donate. From December 3 to 7, 2025, the Inter-mountain Festival of Trees lights up Helena with decorated trees, holiday displays, and a warm, festive crowd.
