History of Crestwood
While the exact date of Crestwood, Missouri's settlement is unknown, it is generally accepted by historians and town officials that the area was settled in 1825. The name of the village was changed from Monegaw Springs to Crestwood in 1857. This change came about after a large portion of land from northern Crestwood was sold to developers who planned to build a new community called Richmond Heights with wide boulevards and grand homes. First-time visitors to our beautiful city will discover a picturesque neighborhood filled with parks, restaurants, museums and attractions.
