Elmwood is a suburb of the Metairie area in northern Jefferson Parish. It is bordered to the north by Metairie, to the east by Jefferson, to the west by Harahan, and to the south by the Mississippi River. The Huey P. Long bridge connects Elmwood to the Westbank area by crossing the Mississippi River.
Elmwood has many shopping areas along Clearview Parkway and a large warehouse and office district catering to many different types of businesses. Over the past 10 years, this area has seen a very large growth with several new shopping developments, a movie production studio, and several venues for kids like trampoline parks and laser tag.
