Priceton, KY was founded in 182, Princeton is home to several notable attractions such as Adsmore Museum, Champion-Shepherdson House (home of the Princeton Art Guild), University of Kentucky Research and Education Center Botanical Garden, Capitol Cinemas, the Annual Black Patch Festival, and Newsom's Aged Kentucky Ham.
Princeton, the seat of Caldwell county, is near the springs at the head of Eddy Creek. The town was first named Eddy Grove, but was renamed Princetown in 1817 for William Prince, a local landowner who settled in the area around 1797. The name was later shortened to Princeton. The original county seat was Eddyville, now the seat of Lyon county. The Caldwell county seat was moved to Princeton in 1817.
Princeton was incorporated in 1820.
The Eddy Grove post office opened in 1805 and was renamed Princeton by the end of 1817.
The population in 2010 was 6,329. It's small, friendly and thriving. The downtown area has some amazing shops and dining. Many local boutiques with a great selection. A lot of history including the trail of tears and the Black Patch wars. People can visit the local churches like Spillman Chapel, Southside Church, and Calvary Church. A trip of the Adsmore Museum can be taken by the visitors. Tourists interested in wild life may visit the Jones - Keeney Public Wildlife Area. They may also spend time enjoying the facilities offered by the Cave - In - Rock State Park, Kenlake State Resort Park, Lake Barkley State Park, and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park.
