Irongate is an interesting subdivision located in Indianapolis. It is located near one of the most popular parks in the city, the Paul Ruster Park. It is a 100-acre park that features outdoor recreation, such as athletic fields, training facilities, and sports facilities as well as a nature preserve which is maintained by the city. There is a bark park inside the park as well. The neighborhood is also near another major attraction the Indianapolis World Sports Park. In 2014 this $5.1 million dollar facility was completed. The unique site covers 46 acres and consists of three multi-use fields for the sports of cricket, lacrosse, hurling, rugby, Australian rules football, and Gaelic football. The first event held at the park was a local Gaelic games tournament in August 2014, with local and regional cricket matches also held that year.
