Gridley is located on Rt. 24 between interstates 39 and 55 and is a short 18-mile drive to Bloomington-Normal. This community houses three parks, a swimming pool, walking paths, pickleball, tennis and basketball courts, and a baseball diamond. The community works together for special events such as the December Christkindl Market, the Memorial Day breakfast parade, and Veterans’ Day Memorial Service.
Gridley has a rich history of caring people working together to preserve a unique and vibrant community. The village of Gridley was founded in 1869 and named after General Asahel Gridley, a noted early Republican, land investor, political backer and client of Abraham Lincoln, and a descendant of Colonel Gridley who served at the Battle of Lexington. Just like several other towns in central Illinois, the town was established when the Peoria and Oquawka Railroad crossed the state from west to east. The railroad soon became the Toledo Peoria and Western. The early growth of Gridley was rapid. On February 28, 1857, the first train arrived in Gridley. A small depot building was erected on the north side of the tracks. J.M. Mitchell built the first store on the corner just north of the depot. This was followed by several other major businesses coming to fruition.
Just like many other Illinois communities, train traffic decreased when well paved and safe roads became more common.

We had a surprise when a man broke a window and then a security door and was cut so badly that the amount of blood was strung from one end of the building to the other. Not to mention all of the broken glass. How does one clean that up and disinfect it? You call Wiley Hasty and Sara Blair from SERVPRO. They didn't stop! They worked continuously on a much bigger mess than they were expecting. Never complaining. Very professional. Would definitely hire those two again.

We had a water issue inside of our house that caused our first floor and basement to have water. Our kitchen was soaking wet ie cabinets, to the flooring everything was wet. We called SERVPRO to come out and help. They did exactly that. From the moment they got here ( middle of February till now) they have helped us understand what happened, worked with my husband and me with insurance, and helped us get our house back in working order. They were very understanding of our situation and everyone that has been out here is a top-notch person. Ryan was wonderful at helping walk us through the process and making sure we understood everything. (Keeping the wheels on the bus). The guys that did the tare out Anthony and Keegan were awesome. Anthony was super busy but always made us feel important and like we were the only ones he was helping. His workmanship is great. Always quick to respond and made sure to keep us informed as to what was going on. Then we finally got started with the remodeling/reconstruction process and I didn’t know things could get even better, but they did. We are working with Michael and AJ. They have been outstanding!! Their communication from day one letting me know they were coming to hey come to take a look at this or that is top-notch. AJ and Michael KNOW what they are doing. The house is really coming along and they are doing a wonderful job. They have also been great in answering my many questions. Something that I would like to say about all the guys that have been out here. They clean up as they go!!! Would definitely recommend SERVPRO of Bloomington!!!
