Just over the bridge from Orchid Island is Wabasso. Wabasso was incorporated in 1925 and is a relic of our local history. Wabasso’s waterfront property makes it a perfect place to go drop in a line and catch some fish. The historic Wabasso Tackle Shack was established in the 1970s and has remained a cherished part of our little fishing town. Many inhabitants remember the days when the busiest intersection only had a stop sign, not a traffic light. Despite all the time that has passed, Wabasso holds onto its roots and is a cherished small town filled with locals and love to this day.
