Port Washington is a community within Walton County, Florida, on the western portion of the Panhandle. It is nestled in a heavily wooded area; the town grew up around a sawmill. The Florida Forest Service manages the woods for timber, wildlife, recreation, and ecological restoration. The Great Florida Birding Trail includes part of the Eden Gardens State Park as well as of other Port Washington areas.

The Eden Gardens State Park includes both forest trails and paved roads. It is 163 acres of land that used to be part of the historic Wesley Homestead. It is open every day, even on holidays, from 8:00 to sunset.  

The focal point of this park is a beautifully renovated two-story house with elegant white columns and a wrap-around porch. The 1897 mansion is set among moss-draped live oaks.  

Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the Wesley House, meander through the gardens, enjoy a picnic, and fish off the dock in Tucker Bayou.
