Ocean City Cleanup and Restoration

Ocean City, Florida is part of Okaloosa County on Florida’s western panhandle. Its mighty presence is belied by its small size: 1.6 square miles, of which about 16% is water. It is mighty because of its proximity to the ocean and because it has a small-town character despite being crowded by its neighbors in the Fort Walton Beach–Crestview–Destin Metropolitan Statistical Area. 

Remarkably, there are only four (4) places named Ocean City.  They are in: Maryland, United States; an island off Lagos, Nigeria; the on in Florida, United States, and one in New Jersey, the United States. We did see a claim that there are 21 “Ocean City” towns, but we could not any of verify them other than those listed above. 

Ocean City is recovering from the onslaught of Hurricane Ian at the end of last month.
