Neptune Beach is a small, quiet, and mainly residential coastal town in Northeast Florida. Pete's Bar (a local Neptune Beach institution in operation for over 89 years) hosts its annual Thanksgiving Day giving event, closing down 1st Street every year.

Neptune Beach is currently undergoing planning for a new Community Vision Plan, 2040. The comprehensive plan is a 3-Phase process that involves many community stakeholders, and citizen volunteers. We are currently in Phase 2, which will help manage growth in a way that provides the facilities and services, fostering economic growth, and preserving natural amenities. These updated policies will provide a foundation for local planning and land use decisions on capital improvements, conservation, recreation, open space, intergovernmental coordination, future land use, coastal management, housing, transportation, and public facilities.
