When Water-Fire-Storm Damage Happens in Micanopy, We're Ready.
Whether you’re looking for restoration, cleaning or construction services, we’re here to help 24/7.
The town of Micanopy encompasses 1.03 square miles near the Alachua-Marion County line in rural north-central Florida between Gainesville (home of the University of Florida) and Ocala (the horse capital of the world). Founded in 1821, Micanopy is believed to be the oldest inland town in Florida and is named for Chief Micanopy of the Seminole Nation.
The area has a Micanopy Historic District, which includes the Thrasher Warehouse, home of the Micanopy Historical Society Museum. Dedicated on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, Cholokka Boulevard, once an Indian trading route, is Micanopy’s main street, and is known for its antique shops. Micanopy’s charm attracted Hollywood filmmakers and was featured in films “Cross Creek" and "Doc Hollywood." Most recently, in 2014, it was featured on The History Channel show “Top Gear.”
A two-story brick schoolhouse, built in 1895, houses Micanopy Town Hall, the Town Commission Chambers, and the Micanopy branch of the Alachua County Library District.
Visitors can also take a drive to nearby Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. Herds of wild horses and bison roam the prairie in this diverse preserve. Nearly 300 species of birds also frequent the park along with alligators, deer and many other animals. The park’s eight trails, including the 16-mile paved Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail, allow one to explore the park’s interior and observe wildlife, while a 50-foot-high observation tower provides for panoramic views. Fishing and canoeing on Lake Wauburg are popular along with a shaded campground.
Micanopy experiences wide temperature fluctuations and Florida’s rainy season complete with thunderstorms. The area is also no stranger to hurricanes. If disaster does strike, property owners and businesses have 24/7 access to professional help for their property damage restoration.
When water and flood damage strikes, often as a result of intense thunderstorms or hurricanes, SERVPRO® will perform a full-service water damage restoration process. We will remove both standing and hidden water in your home or business and provide mold remediation services if necessary.
SERVPRO technicians are ready to help, 24/7, 365 days a year to help restore your home or business back to normal after water, fire, mold or storm damage.
