DeLand Restoration Services
DeLand is a city in the state of Florida, between Orlando and Daytona Beach. The city was named after Walter H. DeLand who founded the town in 1876. History of DeLand
DeLand's original settlers came from the North, and almost all of them came from New England. In fact, in 1873 DeLand boasted a population of over 6,000 people - almost half of these were from Massachusetts alone. The primary occupation for most settlers was agriculture. Just about everyone who moved to DeLand grew fruit: oranges and grapefruits, specifically. Today you can visit an old time orange packing house located on the Museum campus that gives visitors an idea what life was like when DeLand was an orange growing community.
