A small unincorporated village called Hesperus, Colorado is situated on Highway 160 about ten miles west of Durango. It is situated about 17 miles east of Mancos on the route to Cortez and Mesa Verde. Hesperus is the starting point for guided fishing excursions, vintage sleigh rides, dog sled tours, and 4x4 routes.
