Course Description:
Mitigation Awareness & Response Seminar is a two-hour course that provides a better understanding of what should be expected of a good restoration professional during the mitigation and restoration of buildings and contents damaged by water, fire and smoke, and odor.
We will review the principles of water damage restoration as defined by the industry standard, IICRC S500 Water Damage Restoration Standard, and the inspection, scoping, and drying processes for water damage losses, the various methods of cleaning and restoring smoke-damaged buildings and contents and the science behind those methods that make restoration a less costly option than replacement, and the four basic procedures that are effective in most odor situations and the reasons that multiple methods of deodorizing are often required.
